conclusion

1) I have read speak and i am finishing up the book prom right now.
2) In reading for pleasure it was an interesting class. i enjoy being able to accomplish reading a whole book and being able to say i liked what i read. I kind of didnt like reading with so many people or at school. I feel like reading should be something done at home because its less distractions.
3) Last year i went to henderson middle and we didnt read much when we would stsrt a book people wouild complain and we would just get worksheets. This year it is a huge change to me reading books and stuff. I actually learned to like reading a little and it increased my vocab. too.

prom: 64-107

so the prom is now in the gym. thanks to ashley the janitor will help with cleaning an people can bring in their own dishes of food. ash was still mad at her boyfriend tj from the other day so she been ignorin him. then one day when she got back from school she sees him helping her dad fix well reconstruct the kithen due to the mess her father and two brothers made having a food fight. she doesnt say anything to him an just takes some food and goes over to nats place for the prom meeting so they can make fliers. The day afterthat she goes back jome and tj was gone and the kithen was perfect. tj left a note saying he want to take her out so she was happy. ash mom was also happy to see a nice new kitvhen so they went on a date and her father opened hid big mouth and told ashleys mom the big secret. she was going to prom! Wahrn ashley woke up the next morning her two aunts and mom was sitting in the living room surrounded by shoes, purses and dresses. all of them were ugly but the one she liked ripped.Her comes nat. they were ready to go ask for donations and sipplies for their prom but ash didnt kno her two aunts, mom, and nats gma was going. everybody split up and ash and her mom went to the dress store. everything was so expensive. so her mom acted as if she was ready to have her baby so ash wud try on a dress. she like the dress! when they went to the counter her mom acted again as if she was gonna have the baby just to get a bigger discount. afterwards they all met up and came back with napkins and lights.

prom 41-64

Finally nat is home! Ashley goes right over and was expecting for nat to be in tears and suicide watch just because of the prom situation but she wasnt. She was actually working hard to figure out how to still have a prom on a low budget. She needed ashley's help but ash wanted to see her boyfriend because he he got a job. She went over to his place in which he lived with his aunt and oder sister. She has a baby boy and has no idea what to name him. That is sad because he is almost one years old. Name suggestions were storm/max/harley/fire etc.Once she left she knew he would probably be at the basketball court. When she got there it was plenty of people and a girl named Moira O'Malley who she knew and some of her friends. She didnt see her boyfriend TJ anywhere. She gave him a call later on and he picked up apologizing and she just hung up. Next day in school she went to the prom meeting and they have no dj, no caterer, no place to even have the prom! so< Mr.banks the principa cancelled prom until ashley had an idea that put her in the spotlight for once in her life. Have prom in the gym and everybody bring a dish and have the janitors i guess clean up. There are many iaws towards what is allowed and not but she makes her cases reasonable enough to put into question.

prom 23-41

So the math teacher did still the money. The principal had all the seniors meet in the auditorium for a meeting on how to get around the loss of money and other ways to have prom. After that all the kids that had detention had to stay back, which was Ashley! Once she got out she called her sad friend Natalie but she got no answer. Ashley boyfriend TJ picked her up and took her to work. She was a rat at CHEEZ-E. The job wasn't going to great. She has 3 brothers named billy (4), Steven (10), and Shawn (12). She also has a dog named mutt that was death and had only 3 legs. Her mom was pregnant with another child on the way and a bus driver while her father was a taxi driver. The good news is her boyfriend got a job. Bad news is natalie isnt home yet and her grandma is swimming in a pool.

prom 1-23

On this new book i am reading its very interesting. Its starts off with a a normal girl that was now a senior. She goes with this guy named TJ Barnes. He seems like a real jerk! He asks her for money so they can skip and go eat breakfast at burger king. She is hesitant about it, so he persuades her to go but right before she does he gets a call.He turns around she follows him until he gives her a mean frown and waves her away. She leaves to school instead of leaving to eat with him. Ashley explains how her old principal died and how the school made a complete 360 in the way things were (good). Nat and Lauren are her good friends. Natalia Shulmensky (nat) was so excited about prom and what to wear until one day something happened. Miss Crane the math teacher stole the prom money! no more prom! Ashley didnt mind but to the other girls it meant alot and they were devastated.

speak: summary

I finally read the book. The book was very interesting and was good from the beginning but became more detailed and understandable towards the end. The main character Melinda starts out with a few close friends that she had in middle school but they fall apart and she is hated by them all. The high school party they got into thanks to Rachel black mailing her brother. Melinda becomes drunk from drinking so many beers and the "it" named Andy Evans rapes her. Her first thought was to call the cops! Everybody called her the snitch and other names. She has no friends starting high school at Merryweather and nobody payed her any attention unless she was being made fun of. She goes through losing friends, staying silent, and skipping school to being strong, telling someone that she was raped, and finally using the mouth/voice god gave her. The nasty dirty boy Andy Evans tried it again and this time she saved her self by parting her lips and screaming for help. She overcame the weak silent Melinda and became the brave starting new Melinda!

      As she becomes more used to the school, she begins to open up a little bit but she is so paranoid. I can tell her favorite class is art but she has no idea what to do with a tree yet. Every time she tries it ends up looking dead or like something that a 8 year old could do. Another class she seems to enjoy is biology ... slicing apples and dissecting frogs. She passed out when she dissected the frog and went to the nurse though. Her other classes seemed like a drag but this one boy named David Petrakis was very smart and stood for what he believed in. In Mr. Necks class he argues with him over citizenship and the right for open and got to the point were he sewed the school and had a camera and a recorder in that class.Meanwhile her friend Heather is in this new group called the Martha's in which they do good for holidays and food drives and etc. They also dress alike in style. since heather is new in the group she does a lot of the work and gets no  credit. Heather just wants to fit in and she always ask for Melinda to help with decorations and stuff. One day she was hanging a poster up that she had drew and "IT" appears. who is "IT" ? boy? girl? Its a boy a very hot boy but why does she throw up when he is around ? I know its not because she is nervous it seems like she is filled with discuss. His name is Andy Evans.!
